I had a great summer not making any decisions........
“God knew my heart needed you"
Set alarm for five o’clock in the morning, make coffee, drive to work by six while drinking coffee, coach classes, train clients, workout, drive back home. Create the schedule, work on programming, pay bills, post to social media, promote, market, try to make everyone happy.........
That was my life for the last 17 years, yes that’s right, 17 years. As a full-time business owner I always said that I made my own hours......but did I really? NO. I was always working, at least my mind was always working. The stress that owning a business takes on your body and mind is unexplainable unless you’ve been there. Your mind gets no time off.
Well this summer, since Henry began sleeping 12 hours in June, I made NO decisions. Besides his sleeping and eating schedule, we did whatever we wanted! I no longer woke up at five, I slept until six, sometimes six-thirty. I enjoyed my coffee (granted I re-heated the same cup many many times), I worked out whenever I wanted, we went shopping (a little too much), we visited with friends, we went to the pool, took golf cart rides all over the beach, and just loved life.
I had the best summer of all time! I had the most adorable sidekick who I continue to watch grow and grow (yes I know he’s chubby but he’s too young for weightlifting), I never once thought about “work” at the gym. I never once stressed out over members, coaches, clients, or schedules. For once, I felt normal, my mind felt so present, and I loved it.
So now that summer is over, and kids are back to school, I have the best nanny ever (my sister) helping me twice a week and my biggest decision now is where do I want to workout..................
Life is what you make it. When I got pregnant everyone said that being a new mom is the most stressful job in the world, but I beg to differ. Being a new mom is the easiest, most rewarding job that I have ever had and thanks to the most supportive husband in the world, I will keep the stay at home mom “job."
** Note: I am still offering online training to a limited amount of clients and have room for 2 more on site clients.
